The Ashley Foundation is a homelessness charity which offers accommodation with support to vulnerable single homeless people aged 18 years and above, delivering responsive and innovative support to a wide range of individuals in a variety of challenging situations.
Your primary role will be to assist the Flats Manager in assessing the needs of our hostel clients for readiness to move on into our flats and into semi-independence.
You will support those clients with either independent living skills, mental health, drug and alcohol addiction or learning disabilities, ensuring a housing pathway is in place and the schemes are working to develop an individual’s skill and self confidence in preparation for full independent living.
Ideally you will have experience of working in supported accommodation or a housing management setting. You will be able to relate purposefully and communicate effectively with people in a manner which shows sensitivity and understanding of their needs. You will have the ability to manage complex and difficult situations in relation to people and demonstrate a non-judgemental approach.
Using your well-developed knowledge of local resources in Blackpool and your understanding of the support needs of vulnerable people, you will play a key role in helping us deliver a first-class service that coaches people to reach their goals following an agreed action plan.
This is an exciting and challenging role, which means you need to be organised to balance several on-going tasks at the same time, whilst understanding the importance of accurate and timely recording. You will manage your own caseload as part of a supportive team under the management of the Flats Manager.
You will have excellent organisational skills, enjoy problem solving and be comfortable working to deadlines. You will have good ICT, communication and numeracy skills with a commitment to client involvement.
Come and join one of our knowledgeable, supportive, professional and friendly team providing holistic housing support to single vulnerable persons in need. You will receive excellent training, regular supervision and plenty of development opportunities together with a competitive salary and good terms and conditions.
You need to be a driver with access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Please phone 01253 297200 or call in at The Ashley Foundation, 81 Abingdon Street, Blackpool, FY1 1PP for an application pack.
