We are governed by a Board of Trustees. The Board play an important role in making sure that the charity is run in the interests of the people it is there to support. In addition to this they work hard to uphold our vision, protect our assets and funds and ensure that we comply with legislation and regulation.
David Kam – Chair of Trustees
David became a trustee in March 2011. David has been with The Ashley Foundation from its inception, firstly as a volunteer and then as a member. He was also previously involved with the Blackpool Single Homeless project.
He is a very keen fresh and seawater angler and until recently was the Secretary of an Angling Club, having retired after over 25 years of service.
David is married to Janet. They have 2 children. All the family are members of The Ashley Foundation
Lisa Edwards – Trustee
Lisa recently joined the Board in May 2019.
Lisa worked in Operations Management in the Regeneration sector for over a third of her career – heading up operations involved in addressing homelessness, ex-offender rehabilitation, employment, family support services and engagement with those disconnected from mainstream services and support.
For the last 12 years, she has been Managing Director of HR Partner, a consultancy supporting SME businesses across the North West. She has continued to be involved in supporting several charities locally and is committed to helping drive the future of the Foundation.
Ashley Dribben – Trustee
Ashley Dribben became a trustee in December 2014. He is the son of our founder, Lee Dribben. Ashley was only 7 when The Ashley Foundation started operating and has been involved, one way or another, for all the years since then. As a child, Ashley regularly visited our hostels, met residents and learned of homeless issues.
Ashley started his professional career in ‘high street’ estate agency, quickly obtaining NAEA qualifications. He has extensive experience in the selling and renting of both residential and commercial properties.
Ashley now lives in Manchester where he is a Land and Property broker. He is active in the private and social housing sectors. He has a non-executive role with a Manchester based provider of homeless accommodation for families. He was Chairman of the Fylde Coast Landlord Forum for 4 years
Become a Trustee at The Ashley Foundation
The Ashley Foundation are always looking for new members to join our Board of Trustees.
Our Board meet between four to six times a year (including attending our AGM in December) and our Trustees are expected to have a good understanding of the charity’s work overall.
Your role as a trustee will be most valuable to the organisation and to yourself if you have the skill-sets that an organisation needs. The Ashley Foundation would like the trustees with the following skills set:
- Property – lettings, social housing, residential and commercial
- Finance & Accountancy
